Description:

ALLWEST is a 100% employee-owned geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, construction materials testing, and special inspections firm serving the Inland Northwest and beyond. We have offices located in Hayden, Lewiston and Meridian, Idaho; Missoula, Montana; and Spokane and Tri-Cities, Washington.We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineering Field/Laboratory Technician to oversee an on-site construction materials testing operation for a large heavy-civil construction project in remote Central Idaho . This is a remote project and anticipated to be a rotational position working approximately 2-3 weeks on and one week off during the construction season (late April through early November, weather permitting), with camp housing and meals provided. This project is expected to span for approximately three years.This role serves as the on-site technical and supervisory lead, managing 6–8 field and laboratory technicians, coordinating daily and weekly work plans, and maintaining full responsibility for QA/QC, documentation, and compliance across laboratory and field testing activities.General ResponsibilitiesThe Lead Engineering Field/Laboratory Technician is responsible for:Leading and supervising 6–8 field and laboratory technicians on a remote construction sitePerforming and overseeing gradations, Atterbergs, moisture and proctorsOwning laboratory and field QA/QC including daily and weekly reviews of test data and documentationMaintaining sample tracking and proper field logs, inspection reports and digital documentationCoordinating with project managers to support regulatory compliance during constructionWorking independently in remote terrain during active construction operationsRequirementsConstruction materials testing laboratory and/or field experienceACI, ICC and/or WAQTC certificationsDemonstrated ability to lead crews of 6 or moreStrong documentation and organization skillsOther Preferred CertificationsMine or large civil construction project experiencePrevious experience in remote or construction lab environmentsCross trained for laboratory and field testing and environmental sampling experienceMSHA New Miner Training (part 46)Additional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesPositive, team-oriented attitude with a customer service mindset.Effective verbal and written communications abilities.Strong attention to detail and time management skills.Self-motivated and dependable, with strong judgment and accountability when working aloneValid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.Comfortable using computers and mobile devices such as a tablet to record field data.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and maneuver up to 75 lbs. with assistance.ALLWEST BenefitsWe are proud to be a 100% employee-owned company, which means that strong company performance is rewarded to all members of our team.
