Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

Summary

The Legal Analyst - Specialty Lending is responsible for reviewing loan documentation related to the Bank's participated or syndicated credit facilities. This role involves working closely with the syndication lending teams, commercial loan administration teams, and outside counsel on documentation and closing of loan transactions. The analyst will also support the legal team in general lending and transactional matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review loan document packages for accuracy and compliance with credit approval and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct due diligence and review related materials.
  • Respond to inquiries within established timeframes.
  • Manage a large workload with shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and exercise judgment.
  • Identify and evaluate risk-related issues and escalate as appropriate.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Assist attorneys on various projects.
  • Develop policies and procedures as needed.
  • Support team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Organize and manage legal files according to retention policies and legal obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering laws.
  • Identify and report suspicious activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant paralegal experience in financial institutions, law firms, or legal departments, with detailed knowledge of syndicated and securitized lending transactions.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Certified Paralegal Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong legal research skills, including electronic databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
