KettleHouse Brewing Co. is looking for an organized, hard-working, fun-loving individual who loves problem-solving, works great under pressure, and isn't afraid to get theirhands dirty to join our team as a Wastewater Technician. The Wastewater Technician would be the point person for running our Opportunity Wastewater Treatment Plant (OWTP), which processes all the brewery wastewater to make sure it is clean and ready for its safe return to the aquifer.

The Wastewater Technician will learn the ins and outs of the OWTP system, managing the day-to-day system operations and repairs, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, as well as problem-solving and planning when issues arise.

The Wastewater Technician will work closely with our Facilities Manager and the Production team to keep the water clean and flowing and may assist in other areas of facility maintenance as time allows.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment principles and practices, including wastewater treatment plant operations, and monitoring OWTP equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to follow a complex series of directions with minimal supervision. Troubleshooting skills are a must.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and perform activities defined in a variety of operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Proven ability to be organized, practice effective time management, prioritize effectively, and have a keen attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
  • Skilled in equipment maintenance - performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Possesses the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of the company's safety standards and the ability to identify potential problems or safety hazards.
  • Willing to work any shift and fill in as needed, as well as work on an on-call rotation during the peak season.

Other Qualifications
  • Wastewater Treatment Certification preferred, ability to obtain in the future considered.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other general business software programs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Possess the ability to reach, twist, stand, balance, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, walk, or climb in a variety of environments and weather conditions, and lift weights up to 50 lbs. (greater with assistance), often using repetitive motions. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable the employee to perform essential functions.
  • Must be able to legally sample alcohol products for quality control tasting.

Schedule

This position will be scheduled for five (5) eight-hour shifts, but occasional on-call and overtime project work may be asked of you. On-call stipend provided for on-call weekend rotation.

Salary Description

$22-28 DOE
