Job Title

Qualifications include: Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record. Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills. An engineering degree is required. A PE or the ability to acquire one within 18 months is preferred. Strong computer skills required. Must have a background in or practical working knowledge of all phases of natural gas and electric operations. Must have a general knowledge of the engineering, construction and operation of natural gas and electric transmission and distribution systems; knowledge of Company Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and their application and working knowledge of PSC rules and tariffs and their application to customers. Labor relations experience is desirable. Ability to supervise and direct the activities of several functions, direct reports, contractors, and coordinate diverse activities, delegate responsibilities efficiently. Promote and maintain a positive working environment. Effective administration and leadership skills are required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties include: Responsible to ensure a safe working environment for all employees within their reporting responsibility. Responsible to ensure that all work is done in compliance with the NorthWestern Energy Safety Manual and other appropriate standards. Work closely with the Operations and Engineering departments to ensure that work is done on schedule and as efficiently as possible. Responsible to ensure that all work is done in compliance with the NorthWestern Energy Safety Manual and other appropriate codes, standards and processes. Ensures Construction Department operates within the expense budget and capital projects are completed as planned and within budget parameters. Will take the "on call duties" as assigned and will be available for other after hour assignments as situations dictate. Able to lead in day to day operations and is a change agent with skills and experience for innovation and implementation of new programs and processes. Community involvement in civic organizations and internal programs is encouraged. Occasional lifting of materials up to 30 pounds required. Travel required up to 25% of time. Full-time position. $102,200 to $127,800 per year, depending on experience.
