We are seeking a highly skilled EDI Data Engineer & Product Analyst to manage and optimize our ANSI X12-compliant billing system. This role requires a deep understanding of 837, 835, 276, 277, 270, 271, and 834 transactions, along with expertise in SQL Server and MySQL databases. You will be responsible for analyzing, modifying, and optimizing data processes, writing queries, and developing ETL scripts, while also serving as a key liaison between internal teams and payor EDI/MMIS/MCO teams. Additionally, you will gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and drive product enhancements, acting as both an engineer and a product strategist. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, critical thinking, and strong communication skills to ensure seamless data flow, system efficiency, and compliance with payor requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- EDI & Database Management
- Maintain and optimize 837, 835, 277, 276, 270, 271, and 834 EDI transactions.
- Write and execute SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
- Modify database structures and manage SQL Server and MySQL environments.
- Develop and maintain ETL scripts for data transformation and movement.
- Product & Process Optimization
- Gather and analyze requirements from business and operational teams.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and efficient data processes.
- Propose and implement streamlined, maintainable code that avoids unnecessary complexity.
- Drive process improvements that enhance system functionality and reduce inefficiencies.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison with payor EDI teams, including MMIS and MCO representatives.
- Work closely with internal billing, operations, and development teams to resolve data issues.
- Clearly document system changes, workflows, and data specifications.
Qualifications & Experience:- Strong knowledge of ANSI X12 transactions (837, 835, 277, 276, 270, 271, 834).
- 3-5 years of SQL experience. Expertise (SQL Server and MySQL), including query writing, database changes, and optimizations.
- Experience writing ETL scripts and handling large data sets.
- Ability to gather requirements, define specifications, and drive product improvements.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with healthcare, Medicaid, or managed care organizations, specifically with billing and payor systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with EDI file structures and payor system integrations.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerBI, etc.) for automation.
