Job Title: Director of Community Physicians Group

Location: Missoula, MT

Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Community Physicians Group to lead, optimize, and grow our physician practice operations. This role is responsible for strategic and operational leadership across various service lines with a focus on performance transformation, physician engagement, financial management, and delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and operational execution for physician practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
  • Collaborate closely with dyad partners, administrative leaders, and practice managers to engage physicians, APPs, and staff in delivering high-performing, patient-centered care.
  • Manage all aspects of physician and APP engagement including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, quality metrics, productivity targets, and separations.
  • Drive initiatives to optimize clinical operations, improve access, enhance patient experience, and increase financial sustainability.
  • Develop and implement business plans, pro-formas, and new service lines to support organizational growth.
  • Lead operating and capital budget planning, financial forecasting, and oversee financial performance of service lines and practices.
  • Mentor and support direct reports with a focus on leadership development, performance, and professional growth.
  • Participate in facility design and expansion projects in collaboration with other leaders.
  • Serve on internal councils and external committees representing the organization to community stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and partner entities.

Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of progressive experience in practice management including finance, HR, and operations (in lieu of Master's).
  • Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in physician practice or healthcare management.
  • Strong ability to develop and interpret business plans, perform SWOT analyses, and understand financial statements and pro-formas.

Nice to Have

  • Professional certifications such as CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) or CMPE (Certified Medical Practice Executive).
  • Experience in matrixed healthcare systems with proven ability to lead through influence.
